[16 Nov 2023] Beam Mobility Malaysia has commenced operations in Johor Bahru, in support of Johor Bahru City Council’s (MBJB) Low Carbon City initiatives. . This initiative aligns with Beam's commitment to providing convenient and sustainable transportation options for urban communities. To commemorate this meaningful event , Beam Mobility participated in Johor Bahru’s Car Free Morning in conjunction with the Asia Pacific Climate Week (APCW) that happened last Saturday (Nov 11).

The proposed parking spots aim to solve the first and last mile qualms for the residents of Johor Bahru. Positioned at the heart of the town, the new Beam parking spots cater to both tourists and residents alike, offering a more convenient form of transportation and reducing traffic in the town.

Lucas Yap, Country Lead at Beam Mobility Malaysia, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion, stating, "We're thrilled to be expanding our services to Johor Bahru. Our mission is to provide sustainable and convenient transportation solutions to as many people as possible, and we're excited to work with MBJB to achieve their low carbon goals."

Beam Mobility's e-scooters are designed with safety in mind, featuring advanced safety features such as built-in lights, dual-braking systems, and virtual docking (virtual parking spots) created to keep the streets clean and neat. The company also works closely with local authorities to ensure that its services are integrated seamlessly into the city’s environment.

• Low Carbon City: The Johor Bahru City Council (Majlis Bandaraya Johor Bahru, MBJB) aims to achieve its Low Carbon City agenda by 2025. Through its collaboration with Beam, the city aims to provide more options for people in town to travel conveniently.

• Virtual Docking: Fixed ‘virtual’ parking docks will be seen within the app, with riders directed to appropriate parking spots through a combination of guidance, incentives, and disincentives.
• Beam Safe Academy: The Beam Safe Academy is a safety program that incorporates an interactive safety quiz and a launch briefing guide for new users. Riders are to complete the in-app safety quiz as our means of self-training on safe-riding etiquette.
